The CIS Galicia teaches a series of workshops on Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality for SME, organized under "Training workshops on new technology trends for SMEs", which is taught in the Centro Demostrador TIC in Santiago de Compostela.

It will announce the process of identification, analysis, content creation and generation of Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality, showing case studies and applications.

Attendance is free, subject to the capacity of the room and after online registration.


On 7th June 2012 CIS GALICIA organised a workshop called ‘ MARIE CURIE ACTIONS FOR SMEs: HOW TO WRITE a successful proposal of ITN or IAPP’

More relevant questions were discussed so that participants knew about how to prepare proposals for the next calls.

IAPP (“Industry Academy Pathway Partnership”) promotes cooperation between research organizations and private companies (especially PEMEs) for the development of a joint scientific program through the exchange of personnel (researchers, technicians and managers) in any subject area.

ITN (Initial Training Networks) are networks of private organizations and universities working together that are funded to train researchers to improve their research skills and entrepreneurial character, to help them to join established research teams and improve their career prospects.

WORKSHOP


CIS Galicia, IGAPE and the Confederación de Empresarios de Galicia (Galician members of Galactea-Plus consortium of the Enterprise Europe Network) and the Spanish Office of Patents and Marks organised the workshop called ‘Innovation protections through Intellectual and Industrial Property’. This event took place on 22-23 May of 2012.

This workshop was organised specifically for those entities that have an advisory function and intermediary organizations in matters relating to innovation and intellectual property.


CIS GALICIA participated in the event 'RFID and Digital Marketing: creating competive advantages' organised by EMETEL Systems on 25th April 2012.

During the event, it was discussed about the use of RFID technology and Digital Marketing as strategic tools for the companies to increase their sales and turnover and as a added-value for their clients.


Technicians from CIS GALICIA visited the new Virtual Reality facilities of Navantia in the shipyard of Cartagena on 21th March 2012.

Prior to the purchase of the equipment, CIS GALICIA collaborated with NAVANTIA in advicing about virtual reality tecnologies and the integration of hardware with VR applications to deploy in the facilities that are aimed to design submarines.


On 13th March 2012 CIS GALICIA introduced the Aplicability of Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality tools on the product's life cycle in the event called ‘Technological solutions for the modernization of the Metal Industry’.

In this presentation, CIS GALICIA explained the advantages of the use of virtual and augmented reality in tasks of product design, marketing, training, after sales and maintenance.

This event took place on the ICT Demonstrator Centre of Galicia in Santiago de Compostela.


CIS GALICIA has developed a virtual reality application of corpotate communication that allows the user to walk virtually through the new offices of EMETEL Systems. This application is available on the Web page of Emetel.

CIS GALICIA participated in Stuttgart in an international meeting of companies, asociations and clusters dedicated to Virtual Reality and related technological subjects. The meeting took place in Sttugard (Germany).

One of the objectives of this meeting was to analyse and find synergies among these organizations and discuss about how to collaborate and look for project proposals to submit to the next calls of European R&D&i programmes.

Organizations from Germany, France, Switzerland, Italy, Belgium and Austria participated in the event.

CIS GALICIA have developed virtual simulations of show flats collaborating with the flat promoters ALBANTUR and Montearzua.

Flat promoters can show their flats to potential clients without having finished their buildings.

During one of the professional workshops organized by the Forum Culturgal, in 4th December 2011, CIS GALICIA showed different VR applications for scenic art and cultural dissemination, using a stereoscopic projector and 3D glasses were showed some products developed by the CIS Galicia.


On 22-23 November 2011 the participants in the mission had the opportunity to see by first hand the technological advances implemented in leading companies/terminals of the port of Rotterdam. The main purpose of this mission was to try to promote future R & D & i projects and areas of collaboration among the organizations of both countries.


The workshops, conducted during 9th and 10th of November and December 14th , had as a target make the activity of various technology centers was closer the companies in the regions and promote greater understanding of the technological services that they may be of interest.


As a final part of the theoretical and practical training, in 28-29 November 2011, a group of students visited and met officers of DG Research, EACI, REA, DG INFSO, ERC, as well as Spanish representatives in Brussels, and members of CSIC, SOST, Fundación Galicia Europa. The course was taught by renowned experts from both the public and private (CDTI, Universities of Vigo and Santiago, University of Alicante Public Health Institute Carlos III, and a project management consulting), they are also well known by its success in presentation and project management for the 7 th Framework Programme.

For the year 2012 is planning a new course with similar characteristics.
